Coordinate building access

What should management resolve about accessible routes during a strip-out?

Ask management to review how people will reach the spaces that stay open before a demolition boundary or debris route is agreed. An alternative route must be assessed for the actual occupants and building; a sign pointing elsewhere is not enough to establish suitability.

Describe the affected journey

Identify the normal entrance, destination, doors, lift and any shared facilities affected by the proposed work. Explain whether the change concerns a short movement window or a continuing closure. Avoid collecting occupants' private medical details in a contractor enquiry. Management can communicate functional access needs through the appropriate building process.

Request the responsible review

The owner and building team should identify who evaluates the proposed alternative and any applicable accessibility, fire or operational requirements. SiteClear's demolition assessment does not replace that review. If the alternative depends on another tenant's space or an unconfirmed lift arrangement, record the dependency before the work area is released.

Communicate the accepted arrangement

Agree where notices will appear, who can answer questions and how a problem reaches someone able to act. Check that reception and security have the same current instruction as the project team. Revisit it when the removal boundary changes. This guide concerns coordination and information for review, not a universal design for a compliant temporary route.
