Define concrete and building changes
Concrete removals before a commercial forecourt is rebuilt
SiteClear planning resources / Reviewed 11 October 2026
Compare local and connected removals
| Renewal approach | Concrete boundary | Retained feature to show |
|---|---|---|
| Selected kerb change | Defined kerb sections and interfaces | Adjacent paving and drainage features |
| Walk replacement | Specified panels or continuous walk area | Door thresholds and building edge |
| Wider forecourt reset | Agreed concrete elements across the plan | Entrances, utilities and surfaces needed for later access |
The civil designer and relevant utility parties establish the arrangement. A visible joint or cracked edge does not by itself determine the appropriate removal limit.
Illustrative entrance plan
One proposal changes a short walk approaching a retained doorway. Another changes the walk, neighbouring kerb and a larger concrete area. The second needs more interfaces with replacement work, but neither includes the new drainage or pavement installation simply because it follows demolition.
Record how the incoming contractor wants to receive the edges and what remains unresolved below the surface. Unexpected conditions should return to the responsible project team for review.
Coordinate access during the transition
The owner and GC determine entrance availability, delivery arrangements and the route for material collection. A doorway retained in the final design may be affected while the approach is rebuilt. Show temporary arrangements separately from the completed layout.
Request the cutting and removal portion
Bring the site plan, concrete elements, retained thresholds and replacement-contractor contact. SiteClear can assess that defined scope. Roadwork, asphalt paving, drainage design and contaminated-soil treatment are not implied by a forecourt concrete enquiry.
