What should the next flooring contractor know after finish removal?
Agree what condition will be exposed and who will assess it for the next floor finish. Removal of a covering does not automatically include every adhesive layer or preparation process. A clear handoff prevents the demolition scope from being confused with a flooring installation specification.

Identify the proposed boundary
Describe the covering and known underlying layers using available records and professional assessment. Ask which layers are included in removal and which remain for review. Older materials or unidentified adhesives may require specialist assessment before disturbance; appearance alone is not a reliable basis for classifying them. Keep material-report limitations alongside the scope.
Ask the receiving contractor for their criteria
The next flooring contractor should identify the information needed to evaluate the exposed surface for the selected system. Do not convert a generic ready for flooring phrase into a promise about moisture, flatness or bond performance. Those questions may require separate testing or work outside the agreed demolition scope.
Record observed conditions and outstanding work
At handoff, identify remaining layers, visible defects and locations awaiting assessment. Photographs can show the condition at the time of review but do not certify suitability for a new product. SiteClear can discuss the removal boundary; grinding, specialist remediation or installation preparation should not be assumed from this planning guide or from the existence of a floor-removal enquiry.
