Plan a residential renovation

Demolition for a garden-suite project behind a retained house

A proposed garden suite may conflict with an old outbuilding, concrete pad or selected exterior features. Show those elements on the new site layout alongside the retained house and access route. Each needs its own accepted removal boundary.

The existence of a garden-suite design does not establish that every feature behind the house is included in demolition. Identify retained surfaces, fences and neighbouring boundaries explicitly.

Illustrative retained-house site plan

One option places the new footprint where a small outbuilding stands and retains the side path. Another also changes the concrete area connecting the house and yard. The second package needs separate concrete limits and a reviewed route through the retained property.

These examples explain scope differences, not garden-suite eligibility or SiteClear experience at a particular property. The actual structure must be assessed under the established structural service; a small footprint alone does not determine construction or removal conditions.

Connect clearance to the builder's start

Ask what the next contractor requires: removal of the visible structure, defined concrete removal or another agreed condition. Foundations, buried features and later excavation must be expressly allocated. A cleared yard is not automatically ready for a new foundation.

Prepare the enquiry

Provide the proposed site plan, photographs of actual features, retained-house access requirements and builder contact. Identify utility and tree questions for the responsible parties. SiteClear can assess the supported structural, exterior and concrete portions without treating the whole garden-suite project as a demolition contract.
