Hotel public-space demolition before a major refit

Hotel reception, lounges, corridors and dining spaces need different removal decisions from repeated guestrooms. Start with the future public-floor layout and trace where changed rooms meet the entrances and building functions that remain.

Compare finish renewal with a linked layout change

Replacing lobby finishes may leave most partitions and circulation intact. Enlarging a lounge into reception can add millwork, room divisions and ceiling junctions to the removal package. Show where the design stops, including continuous flooring that runs beyond the altered room.

Illustrative public-floor plan

Before: reception desk beside an enclosed lounge, with a corridor leading to lifts. After: a smaller desk and opened lounge, while the lift corridor remains in the design. The removal package follows the desk, reviewed enclosure and affected finishes; it does not include the lift systems or all corridor surfaces.

The hotel and project team determine the operational arrangement during work. A route retained in the final design is not automatically available during demolition. Assign temporary routes and the period between removal and new finishes before confirming the programme.

Keep hospitality equipment with its specialists

Food-service equipment, entry controls and connected services require their responsible providers. Furniture and decorative assets need separate destinations. SiteClear's assessment concerns the agreed ordinary interiors, not management of hotel operations.

Define the public-area handover

Ask the incoming millwork and finish contractors what they need at exposed edges. Identify who handles repairs, temporary protection and later installation. Bring the public-floor plan and operating constraints to the assessment; use the guestroom guide for repeated room packages.
