Pool-area refurbishment: ordinary interiors around a retained pool

A pool-area renovation can renew changing rooms and adjoining interiors without removing the pool. Draw the pool structure, its specialist equipment and the ordinary room-removal areas as separate packages before requesting an assessment.

The designer and waterproofing contractor establish the retained layers and receiving condition. Removing a finish does not confirm that the assembly beneath it is suitable for reuse.

Illustrative retained-pool plan

A project keeps the pool and its systems while renewing a changing room and adjacent lounge. The ordinary package identifies specified cabinetry, room finishes and a reviewed lounge partition. The pool boundary remains outside those removals, with relevant specialist decisions assigned separately.

A wider option changes additional surrounding finishes. That needs a new scope review at the pool interface rather than treating the expansion as an automatic extension of lounge demolition.

Coordinate closure and the next trades

Management and the project team decide access, closures and the period before reinstatement. Identify who inspects exposed wet-area construction, who authorises any additional removal and which contractor completes the new assembly. Demolition does not establish a reopening date or pool-shell integrity.

Request the ordinary interior portion

Provide the affected rooms, retained pool boundary and designer/specialist contacts. SiteClear can assess supported interior removals. Pool waterproofing, water treatment, shell work and commissioning are not offered by this guide.
