Plan debris and handover
How should unfinished demolition items be recorded at handover?
List incomplete items by location, agreed scope and next action. A note saying minor items remain is too vague to coordinate the next trade or determine who must respond. The record should distinguish incomplete removal from new requests and work that belongs to another party.

Classify the outstanding item
Identify whether the item is within the accepted scope, held for information, awaiting another trade or newly requested. Include the relevant drawing or instruction. Do not label every difference a defect before reviewing the agreed boundary. This helps the owner understand whether the next step is completion, clarification or a separately reviewed scope change.
Name the dependency and decision-maker
For a held item, record the missing information and who can provide it. For a trade interface, identify the handover condition required before work can resume. Avoid assigning a completion promise while the dependency remains unresolved. A useful record says what must happen next rather than only that the item is delayed.
Track resolution without losing history
When an item is addressed, note the reviewed outcome and accepting contact. Keep earlier versions so the record shows how the instruction changed. Share the current list with the next contractor if their work depends on it. This guide helps manage exceptions after removal; it does not replace the agreed contract or decide liability for a disputed item.
