Plan debris and handover

How long does a retail strip-out take between tenants?

A useful retail strip-out schedule comes from the confirmed scope, access and handover dependencies. There is no reliable universal duration for a storefront between tenants.

List the release conditions

Before assigning dates, identify the landlord's accepted removal scope, drawings, material information and responsibilities for services. Record which decisions are still outstanding and who can resolve them. An unapproved scope is not a sound basis for a promised completion date.

Build the sequence around constraints

Elevator or loading access, permitted work windows and the condition of concealed assemblies can affect sequencing. Ask how debris movement fits the removal tasks and when the next contractor needs access. A desired opening date is useful context, but it does not remove those dependencies.

Define completion in observable terms

Agree what the handover inspection will cover and how variations will be documented. Separate the demolition handover from permits, new fit-out, testing and the tenant's reopening. SiteClear can assess its own removal scope once the property information is available.
