Coordinate building access
How should an oversized fixture be assessed for removal through a building?
Assess the item and the entire proposed route together. A fixture fitting inside an elevator does not prove it can reach the car, turn through a doorway or pass through the loading exit. The removal team needs reliable item information and building-approved route details before proposing handling arrangements.

Describe the item accurately
Record dimensions, known construction, connections and whether the item is loose or built in. Ask the owner or supplier for reliable weight information where available rather than estimating from appearance. Photographs should show connections and surrounding space. Do not dismantle or disconnect an item solely to make a planning photograph clearer.
Record the route's limiting points
Include turns, thresholds, door openings and the transition between the car and each landing. Obtain actual elevator and loading restrictions from management. These details inform professional assessment; they are not a loading calculation for the owner to perform. An unknown dimension or limit should stay marked as unknown.
Resolve alternatives before booking
If the proposed route is unsuitable, ask the responsible team to review alternatives and their permissions. Temporary removal of retained building elements is a separate decision, not an automatic part of moving the fixture. The debris-removal enquiry should state the item, location and route constraints so SiteClear can assess fit without promising specialist lifting capability.
