Confirm scope and approvals

How should a revised removal drawing reach everyone on site?

Treat a revised drawing as a change to be reviewed and distributed, not merely another attachment. Identify which removal limits changed, who accepted the revision and which earlier sheets are superseded. The team should be able to find the same current instruction at the work area and at handover.

Compare the affected boundaries

Mark the rooms, partitions, finishes or openings that differ from the previous revision. A changed line can affect retained work, material information or the next trade even if the overall project title stays the same. Ask the designer or appropriate reviewer to resolve ambiguous notation. The demolition team should not infer permission to remove an adjoining element from an incomplete sketch.

Check approval consequences

A revised scope may need further review by the owner, building management or permitting authority. Ask the responsible applicant which approvals remain applicable. Keep this check distinct from pricing or scheduling discussions: agreement to discuss additional work is not evidence that the technical direction or required permission has been obtained.

Withdraw superseded instructions

Record the revision number and issue date on the working set. Identify recipients and ask them to replace earlier copies, including printed sheets held by security or another shift. Keep the older version in the project record rather than mixed into the current package. At the next review, compare the exposed work with the accepted revision, not with an unlabelled image in a message thread.

Illustrative drawing contradiction

A project legend identifies existing, proposed removal and new construction, but a revised room plan labels one partition differently from the section. Send the location, drawing references and contradiction to the issuing designer. Do not choose the symbol that permits more removal.

Symbols and line styles vary between drawing sets. Keep the project legend with the current issue, and distribute the resolved instruction with its revision reference rather than presenting a generic colour or dashed line as universal permission.
