Coordinate building access

How should demolition trucks be coordinated at a shared loading dock?

Use an agreed arrival and release arrangement tied to the building's other deliveries. A loading-dock booking is not a place for unplanned vehicle queues. Management and the removal team need the same understanding of where a vehicle may wait and who confirms that the dock is ready.

Map the dispatch decision

Identify the booked bay, permitted approach and contact who can confirm availability. Ask what happens when the preceding delivery overruns. Do not assume a nearby street, fire route or neighbouring property is an acceptable waiting area. The building team should identify an authorised arrangement and the removal team should assess whether it suits the proposed vehicle.

Connect the truck with the internal movement

A truck can arrive on time while the elevator or work-area route remains unavailable. Discuss when material may move toward the dock and how the dispatch contact will know it is ready. Avoid treating a booking time as a production promise. The actual movement plan depends on the assessed materials, route and building restrictions.

Record arrival and release messages

Keep the contact route short: who calls, who answers and who can change the plan. After a delay, reconfirm the bay and internal access rather than simply sending the vehicle later. The existing elevator guide explains reservation inputs; this guide concerns the handoff between building operations and vehicle dispatch during a shared-dock window.
